ὁ ηὑρημένος θεός
μὴ ζήτει τὸν θεὸν τῇ διανοίᾳ ἐν κενῷ
οὗ ἡ διάνοια, σκοτεινὴ (καὶ λεπτὴ) σκιά, ἀφανίζεται
παρά σοι ὁ θεός ἐστι, ἀεὶ ἐγγύς
ἐν περιβάλλουσίν σε πράγμασι, ἐν ψόφῳ καὶ σιωπῇ
ὁ θεὸς ἀεὶ πλησιαίτατος πάντων
θιγγάνεις αὐτοῦ χειρὶ, βλέπεις αὐτόν ἐν χρώματι τοῦ οὐρανοῦ
ὁ θεὸς μειδιᾷ σοι ἐκ φίλου τινὸς προσώπου
καὶ φοβεῖ σε ἐκ παντὸς πράγματος· οὐδὲν ἀφανές.
μὴ ἔκτεινε τὴν διάνοιαν εἰς τὸ πόρρω κενόν
παρά σοι ὁ θεός ἐστι. Ἄνοιξε πάντα τὰ αἰσθητήρια·
Καταχεῖται σου φῶς ἀπὸ θερινοῦ οὐρανοῦ
ὁ θεὸς περὶ σὲ λάμπει, τρέμει, ὄζει, ψοφεῖ.

Ne traži Boga mišlju; u praznini
u kojoj se miso, tamna sjenka, gubi
uza te Bog je, uvijek u blizini
u stvarima oko tebe, u zvuku i muku.
Bog ti je uvijek najbliži od svega
diraš ga rukom, gledaš ga u boji neba
Bog ti se smiješi iz jednog dragog lica
i plaši te iz svake stvari: nema tajne
Ne pružaj miso u praznu daljinu
uza te Bog je. Otvori sva čula:
Na tebe svjetlost s ljetnog neba pljušti
Bog oko tebe sja, treperi, miriše i šušti.

Don't search for God in thought; in the void
In which the thought, dark shade, gets lost
God is next to you, always nearby
In the things around you, in the sound and silence
God is always the nearest to you more than anything else
you touch him with your hand, you watch him in the color of the sky
God smiles to you from a dear face
and scares you from each thing: there's no secret to it
Don't extend your thought into the empty distance
God is next to you. Open all your senses:
Light from summer sky is showering down upon you
God shines, quivers, smells and rustles around you.

Suche Gott nicht denkend, in der Leere
wo der Gedanke, der dunkle Schatten, sich verliert.
Gott umgibt dich, ist immer in der Nähe
In den Dingen um dich, im Klang und Schweigen.
Gott ist dir immer am nächsten von allem
Du berührst ihn mit der Hand,
erblickst ihn in der Farbe des Himmels.
Gott lächelt dich an aus einem lieben Gesicht

Gott umgibt dich. Öffne alle Sinne:
Über dich strömt das Licht des Sommerhimmels
